"We live in an age when we are approaching almost limitless possibilities in the treatment of medical disorders. Infertility is one such condition. Over the past three decades, remarkable developments in medical, surgical, and laboratory techniques have resulted in the growth of a subspecialty devoted to treatment of infertility. I have been fortunate to be able to practice that medicine during this exciting era. The entire team of embryologists, nurses, and doctors feel a common bond with our patients during their treatment as well as after they have left us as newly started families."

David Kreiner, MD graduated with AOA honors from SUNY Downstate in 1981 with aspirations to start an IVF program on Long Island. That dream became a reality when—upon completion of his fellowship and a year as assistant professor at the Jones Institute in Norfolk, VA—he joined Dr. Kenigsberg to found Long Island IVF and achieved the first successful IVF east of the East River in 1988. Over the years, Dr. Kreiner has won two national awards for infertility research, was a finalist for the top research award from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine for his work on endometriosis, and was granted the Teddy Roosevelt Award at JT Mather Memorial Hospital and the Family Building Award from the American Fertility Association for his efforts with maximizing success while minimizing risk with IVF. In 2017, after studying Traditional Chinese Medicine for two years, Dr. Kreiner became the first REI in the Northeast to become certified in medical acupuncture, offering Long Island IVF patients acupuncture on site at the time of their embryo transfer. His professional goal of assisting his patients is summarized by the title of his book he authored, “Journey to the Crib.”
"I was deeply influenced by some of my earliest patients' experiences with high-order multiple pregnancies and births. As a husband and father, I strongly believe my role as a physician is to facilitate conception for my patients in the most medically safe and economically efficient way possible."

"Reproductive endocrinology is a challenging, meaningful, and rewarding subspecialty. I regard it as a true privilege to treat patients who suffer from problems with infertility. The rewards, when successful, extend not only to my patients but to their own families who will now be grandparents, aunts and uncles. The impact that I have as a physician not only on all of these individuals, but all of those people who are effected by a child in his or her own future, represents a reward that is indescribable."
