Introduction of a scope into (no surgical incision) the uterus through the cervix to visualize the inside of the uterus. This is done to remove polyps and detect problems inside the uterus.
Introduction of a fiber optic scope into the abdomen to visualize the anatomy. A small incision is made under the umbilicus to accommodate the scope. This can be used to diagnose and often treat anomalies of the uterus and ovaries as well as diagnose conditions such as endometriosis.
Surgical procedure that involves an incision 4-6 inches in length, about 2 inches above the pubic bone. This allows the doctor larger access to organs such as ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus. This procedure can be used to diagnose and treat conditions such as endometriosis, myomas (fibroids), hydrosalpinx, uterine anamolies.
