At Long Island IVF we offer a wide array of office services to better serve our patients. Below are the titles of many of the commonly performed office services that we perform.
We offer the use of donor sperm from various sperm banks. Although in-vitro fertilization may treat the vast majority of male factor infertility, donor sperm may be used when the male partner is infertile or when there is no male partner. When it is determined that donor sperm is necessary the patient and partner, if there is one, will require screening prior to donor selection. Once the screening is complete and the results are reviewed patients may select their donor specimen. The patient's specimen is shipped directly to the office for use during the treatment cycle.
Sperm donor banks offer lists of donor characteristics: ethnic heritage, blood type, interests and level of education or occupation. Some sperm banks offer extended donor profiles which include additional information on the donor which patients may request from the banks.
Timed late in a woman’s menstrual cycle, 1-2 days before the next expected menses. A small amount of uterine tissue is removed and sent to the lab to evaluate for appropriate hormonal effects on uterine tissue.
Done after menstrual bleeding has stopped and prior to ovulation, usually between day 6-10. Dye is introduced through the cervix and a series of x-rays is taken. This test is used to evaluate uterine anatomy and tubal patency.
This includes an appointment with one of our three physicians who are Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologists. You will confer regarding current medical problems. Any past medical records will be reviewed and an exam done. A decision on a plan of further evaluation or treatment plan will be discussed. Physical exam will include a transvaginal sonogram.
Monitoring the development of follicles containing eggs with urine, blood and vaginal sonograms to accurately time ovulation for diagnostic and or therapeutic purposes.
Timed to a woman's ovulation. This test includes the painless collection of cervical mucous after you have had sexual relations with your partner. The quality of mucous and the presence of live motile sperm are evaluated.
We can freeze specimens and store them on a short term basis for use in various treatment cycles. For example, IVF, inseminations, donor egg cycles. Bloodwork is required by the FDA before a specimen can be frozen
