Dr. Satu Kuokkanen

Dr. Kuokkanen is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is board eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). Dr. Kuokkanen received her medical and PhD degrees from the University of Helsinki, Finland leading to post-doctoral training at the Human Genome Research Center at the National Institutes of Health. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in 2005. During her training, Dr. Kuokkanen received several teaching and academic achievement awards and presented her research on molecular genetics at numerous leading national and international conferences.

After graduating residency, Dr. Kuokkanen completed a three year REI fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. During that time, she distinguished herself as a caring, compassionate and knowledgeable clinician as well as a dedicated academician.

Dr. Kuokkanen is an Assistant Professor of Ob/Gyn and faculty member at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center where she continues her research work as a principal investigator in reproductive biology. Dr. Kuokkanen is the recipient of the prestigious American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologist Foundation research award and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognized journals and book chapters. In addition, Dr. Kuokkanen has been awarded several grants. Her special interests include IVF, ovulation induction, egg donation, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome.
