Long Island IVF - Dedication During Winter Storm Nemo

Winter Storm Nemo brought close to 3 feet of snow to Long Island this February, rendering it impossible for people to go anywhere for up to several days. Long Island IVF's dedicated staff made it into the office in spite of difficult road conditions to administer treatment to one of their patients who may have had an otherwise unsuccessful outcome. Doctors and nurses at LIIVF speak about why it was so important to be there that day and testify to the commitment of the entire staff.

Long Island IVF: A History of Success

Established in 1988, Long Island IVF was responsible for the first In Vitro Fertilization birth, the first birth from a cryopreserved embryo, and the first birth from a donor egg, on Long Island. In this video, the Long Island IVF doctors talk about their services and successes, while former patients provide testimonials and personal anecdotes from their experiences. Through the latest technology and the staff's genuine care for the patients, Long Island IVF has achieved some of the top pregnancy rates in the nation. JOIN INFERTILITY ADVOCATES AT TOWN HALL MEETING:

Meeting will discuss important legislation that could help thousands of local residents become parents

(Melville, NY-December 6, 2012)— RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association and Long Island
IVF are hosting a Town Hall meeting on December, 18th 2012, to discuss the Family Act, an important
piece of legislation introduced into Congress last year that would provide a tax credit for out-of-pocket
expenses associated with infertility treatments. While New York is one of only 15 states in the country
with an insurance mandate that can cover infertility treatments, the reality is very few people are able
to take advantage of the insurance mandate. The Family Act could help more people gain access
to important medical treatments that could help them become parents. “We understand that patients
are anxious about the success of fertility treatments. Besides their compelling desire to have a baby,
they’re coping with worries about the costs- in time, money, and discomfort- of IVF. The Family Act
focuses on helping these patients offset the costs of infertility treatments. This bill will make this
vital patient care more accessible for thousands of Americans,” said Dr. David Kreiner-Reproductive
Endocrinologist at Long Island IVF. “This legislation recognizes that infertility is a medical disorder
that merits support for affected individuals,” adds Dr. Steven Brenner-Reproductive Endocrinologist at
Long Island IVF.

What is Micro IVF?

Micro IVF, also known as Mini IVF or minimal stimulation, is an IVF procedure whereby a patient's ovaries are stimulated with oral medications (Clomid) in conjunction with a minimal amount of injectable gonadotropins. The process proceeds in identical fashion to conventional IVF with egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo culture and ultrasound-guided embryo transfer.

What are the benefits?

  • Lower cost than most other IVF procedures
  • Use of fewer or less amounts of fertility drugs
  • Less risk of high order multiple pregnancies
  • Often produces multiple high-quality embryos, some of which can be cryopreserved for potential additional transfers in the future
  • Can be used in cases that intrauterine insemination (IUI) cannot
  • When combined with the SET program, embryo cryopreservation is FREE,
as is embryo storage for one year
